APPROACH TO THERAPY
Your vision will become clear
only when you can look into your own heart.
Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.
– Carl Jung

I see therapy as a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can move away from what no longer serves them and towards their preferred life, relationships, and way of being in the world.
I believe every person – and the shift they’d like to make – is unique, and I employ various methods and processes according to the needs and goals presented.
My experience is that by combining the wisdom of the psyche and the wisdom of the body, new options for meaningful life and relationships can come into awareness and practice. I believe people are empowered with information about how our brain works and becomes more integrated through therapy, relationships, and mindfulness practices.
I practice client-centered therapy in the tradition of Carl Rogers, with an emphasis on psychodynamic & depth psychology in the tradition of Carl Jung and James Hillman, as well as Mindfulness and Attachment perspectives.
I also utilize Sue Johnson’s Emotionally Focused Therapy techniques.
If appropriate, I introduce Energy Psychology/Tapping to generate
greater awareness, and subsequent release, of patterns in the body’s
meridian system.
